This book was a refreshing honest look at french women! I am a long time lover of all things French and have quite possibly read every book out there on this subject but this was the first book that didn't leave me feeling like an uncivilized oaf! Most books written on this subject are usually very preachy but Helena writes on this subject in a girl's girl kind of way that gives me hope for changing my oafish ways:) She gives an honest (good bad and ugly) look in to the lives of actual French women. All I can say is that I quite Simply loved this book.

I have read most of the "French women" book /Mireille Guilliano's, Jamie Cat Callan's, Debra Olivier's/, but this one is very different. What I actually liked about it was that she showed that French women are not so perfect as other books on this topic tried to convince us. It covers topics such as style, exercises, cosmetics, love, work, children, diets. I found it cute and funny, but if you like more serious books, it's not for you. I give it four stars, because I think that it is very negative towards French women at some points and that she presented only women belonging to elite. I recommend Jamie Cat Callan's books, they cover the same topics, but she interviewed more "regular"women.

Not a great book according to me, I have read many, many books about French lifestyle but this book is not great.

Nothing new. The book is just okay. Not as amusing as I thought it would be. Enjoyed Paris to the Moon a lot more.

I quite enjoyed this book, but as with many other francophilia books out there, it wasn't much new. I would definitely recommend for someone who's new to being a francophile as this author is humorous, informative and gets to the point. I did enjoy that she offered other view points of the French (e.g. parenting styles) and her near-liason.
Great easy read!!
