In 1995, he wrote the liner notes to Rolf's best-selling album Rolf Rules OK! Since 1977 he has written more than a hundred music, sport and TV books.

Michael Heatley went freelance in 1988 after three years running the oneshots of Dennis Publishing. Having traveled to Italy several years ago and anticipating a return, I gave this book to my husband for Christmas. The pictures are wonderful and depicted many great memories for us. He has written over 100 TV, music and sports titles, with subjects ranging from Elton John or Guns N' Roses to A History of Football. Although this is not a travel book per se, we are using the pictures to plan where we would like to go next time.

This magnificent book provides a tantalizing taster of the beauty of Italy from its city and townscapes to its incomparable countryside.

This has got to be the best bargain around-$6 for a beautiful coffee-table book with over 250 amazing photographs.

As others have said, the print is very small, and I did literally use a magnifying glass. However, that worked out well, because I was able to see things in the pictures themselves that I would have missed otherwise.

My only complaint, and I seem to say this in almost all my reviews, is that the text editing is sloppy. There were many typos, periods where there shouldn't have been any, etc. A particularly glaring example is when the word "southeastern" was split with the "s" on one line and "outheastern" on the following line. Although the book was printed in China, it was published in New York and this sloppiness is inexcusable. (Probably the editor couldn't see because the text was too small!).

If you love Italy, and if you love photography, this book is wonderful. I bought one for a friend's birthday, as well, and I'm sure he will think I paid at least $30.

The only minor complaint I have about the actual book is there is a noticeble bump feel to the pages. You can't see it, but as you turn through the pages and swipe your hand across the page you can feel it. It doesn't affect the enjoyment of the book, but it annoys me somewhat. I initially was going to purchase this book at a local book store. I went through each book they had and there was the same problem. Since these books were in the "discount" bin, I figured that was the reason. I decided to order from Amazon thinking this bump wouldn't be there. Unfortunately, it was not different from the books in the book store.

Who in the name of goodness decided to use print so small one either needs to use a magnifying glass or "squint" for hours attempting to read this thing. I'm sorry I kept the book, and embarrassed that I gave it as a gift. The pictures are quite nice, but I stopped trying to figure out where they were taken at about page five. Seriously, this book is not physically readable without magnification. Unbelievable!

Beautiful photographs; however, the text is set in incredibly small print and it is very, very difficult to read. Because of this, I would not purchase this book again.

Got this after a trip to Italy - which was so quick didn't have time to get a book. The printing is VERY tiny, as other reviews said, but it did the trick.

Would have been nice to see some of the small villages as well as the popular tourist spots. Everywhere you turn in Italy, a good photo can be found!

Exactly as described.
Very nice book with wonderful photos. Gave it as a gift. Sent promptly and wrapped well.
