My opinion is that this is a good book for anyone interested in learning the basics of the C programming language. My opinion is based on three things the author has done and continues to do.

1. All disciplines have their own jargon. Computer programming might be one of the worst. Because it can't be eliminated entirely but because students must learn it eventually, the author has minimized the use of programming jargon but left enough to be more educational than confusing.

2. The author answers his email and is open to suggestions as long as they are not abusive.

3. The author maintains a website that features errata, updates, and references.

For those who should know better but might not, here are things the author does not do.

1. The author does not open skulls and pour in knowledge. There is no book that can be placed under a pillow and subsequently, its contents will be absorbed by osmosis while individuals sleep on it.

2. If individuals are students enrolled in an accredited (or non-accredited) institution, the author does not do their homework.

In conclusion, I believe that with the aid of this book and if individuals apply themselves, they will learn one of two things; the fundamentals of the C programming language and that they have an aptitude for C programming, or the fundamentals of the C programming language and that they have no aptitude for C programming. Either way, they will get their money's worth.
