At present, as Samuel Butler said, the best art (. the most perfect ) must be 'lived' from one person to another. For this reason I think that the idea of the deliberate invention of words is at least worth thinking over.

Halsall, Paul, Lesbian, Gay, and Bisexual Catholic Bibliography, Very large bibliography on Christianity, Judaism, and Homosexuality. Historical Presences, Present Silences: A Critical Analysis of Fragments for a History of the Human Body. Journal of the History of Sexuality 3:1 (1992): 129-40. Blending insights from prominent queer theorists such as Judith Butler and David Halperin, Jagose argues that queer theory's challenge is to create new ways of thinking, not only about fixed sexual identities such as heterosexual and homosexual, but also about other supposedly essential notions such as "sexuality" and "gender" and even "man" and "woman".

This unique treasury of memorable quotations from across the centuries & around the world is an outstanding record of gay & lesbian sensibility. Prof. Patricia Juliana Smith has assembled a collage of voices -- queer voices, in a variety of senses -- across many centuries. She deems queer an all-encompassing term that covers gay men, lesbians, bisexuals, transsexuals, transgendered individuals, & anyone else who falls outside the socially comfortable -- & acceptable -- boundaries of the straight world. Smith has culled historical & literary sources, with the purpose of demonstrating a continuum of queer thought & culture over time, with contemporary sources to add a touch of piquancy.

Awesome book! It is a very interesting book filled with many great quotes from many different people.

This book attracted me at first only out of virtue of its title; I thought, "How many gay quotes can there BE?" Upon reading it, it turned out to be much more than a simple gay book, and is full of insights into person, health, truth, and love, along with the interestingly raunchy sayings and bizarre lines from obscure places. I recommend this.
