To me, it's by far the best Lord of The Rings role-playing book ever edited by ICE. It describes a cosmic plot in the Utter South of Middle Earth and everything is astonishing, from the beginning to the end: the story starts in the First Age and develops until 1.700 Third Age +-, so it provides a great variety of backgrounds to play. Characters and locations are original and well-designed, with enough info to play and enough room to make your own stories up. Some could say they are too powerful but, otherwise, how could you call it "cosmic plot"? :)
In a word: unique.

Had a great time back in the day playing this game with my brother and friends when there was still magic in my world, and friends were true... Great back story and adventure in an imaginary land far to the south of Middle-Earth. Far better than D & D!
