I bought Carrion Hill some time ago and enjoyed reading through it but didn't think my players would find it that exciting. The story was a bit thin in spots but the situation had quite a lot of creepy humor in it. I decided on a whim to try it out with my group and I am very glad I did!

There are several long narrative sections the GM can read aloud that are very well written and they set the tone for the rest of the adventure. The bad guys need to be punched up a bit to keep the players on the edge of their seats but that is easily done and is well worth the effort.

This is possibly the greatest module Paizo has produced, and it's one of the oldest. This has nearly everything you could want, is challenging, and incredibly flavorful. It evokes the Elder Mythos feeling much better than Strange Aeons did.

Carrion Hill is, hands down, the best module I've run or played in. It combines a deep, rich setting, a compelling plot hook for most characters and a good balance between a sandbox adventure and a linear plot. Your players will neither be too railroaded or too free to function. The challenge level is good for a 4-person level 5 table, but when your party level goes upward or you add more players, the fights drop to decidedly easy. There are plenty of opportunities to up the challenge level if you need to. If you like Pathfinder and enjoy a Lovecraftian horror mystery, you're going to love Carrion Hill.
