I had a copy of this book many years ago and loved it. I decided I wanted to revisit the story again so I purchased it again. Victoria Holt is always a winner. Good writing is good writing despite the time that has passed since it was first released. Excellent characterization and story.

I have not read much about Marie Antionette and had picked up an old Reader's Digest condensed version while waiting at doctor's office one day. Had to find the full length version. Very interesting.

I thought this book was great, it cleared up a lot of the things I had heard about Marie Antoinette (even though I'm sure the author colored it a bit) and I really appreciated the fact that the author didn't make her sound like a "can do no wrong" heroine. This book made Marie Antoinette a real person for me, more than any other book featuring her had before.

Love all of Holt's books, but this is my favorite. Well done!
The book arrived on time and in good shape. It was clean and looked new. I did not like the read and did not finish. Good will will get this.
