In this bibliography, I studied the relationships between immigration, personal motivations, and religion. Mythological storytelling brought these elements together. From my first two sources, I learned about the Swedish immigration to America. By 1920, Swedes and their descendants would own more land in American than the entire territory of Sweden (Thernstrom 974). Therefore, people coming in the second wave may have imagined an idyllic agricultural setting. However, most people coming to America in the second wave would have experienced an urban environment. Details from this information lead me to form an interesting hypothesis.
