An annotated bibliography is a list of citations for books, articles, and documents. Each citation is followed by a brief (usually about 150 words) descriptive and evaluative paragraph, which is the annotation. The purpose of the annotation is to inform the reader of the relevance, accuracy, and quality of the sources cited.

In this bibliography, I studied the relationships between immigration, personal motivations, and religion. Mythological storytelling brought these elements together. From my first two sources, I learned about the Swedish immigration to America. By 1920, Swedes and their descendants would own more land in American than the entire territory of Sweden (Thernstrom 974). Therefore, people coming in the second wave may have imagined an idyllic agricultural setting. However, most people coming to America in the second wave would have experienced an urban environment. Details from this information lead me to form an interesting hypothesis.
