Start by marking Supporting Assessment in Undergraduate Mathematics as Want to Read: Want to Read savin. ant to Read. Therefore, the papers in this book will be of value to you if you are currently going through an intensive assessment process. Some of the best ways to reduce the stress and workload of the process is to either borrow from others, cite the actions and consequences experienced by others or simply reading about the problems others have had.

This book is a list of about 3000 recommended math books, mostly at the undergraduate or early graduate level. The list is divided up into 26 major categories (such as "Calculus and Precalculus") and subcategories (for the Calculus category, the subcategories are School Mathematics, Precalculus, Elementary Calculus, Advanced Calculus, and Supplementary resources). One of the benefits of this books is simply the classification scheme, which gives the reader a good idea of the different topics on which large numbers of books have been published.

Mathematical Association of America Notes: Mathematical Time Capsules: Historical Modules for the Mathematics Classroom Series Number 77. Dick Jardine. Steen, Lynn Arthur, Ed. This publication contains 29 case studies offering lessons learned during a four year NSF-supported MAA project designed to support mathematicians and mathematics departments in the increasingly important challenge of assessing student learning. Three introductory essays set assessment in broader academic and national contexts; an appendix contains the 2005 revision of the CUPM Guidelines for Assessment of Student Learning.

Relevant history-based activities for a wide range of undergraduate and secondary mathematics courses are included.

This report from the Mathematical Association of America describes what was learned during a four-year project designed to support mathematics departments in the design and implementation of programs for the assessment of student learning. The 26 case studies deal primarily with coherent blocks of undergraduate courses designed for particular purposes, such as teacher preparation and math-intensive majors. The 2005 revision of the CUPM Guidelines for Assessment of Student Learning is provided in the appendix. Editor Steen teaches mathematics at St. Olaf College.
