I bought this for my grandchildren for Christmas. We have loved Patricia Polacco books for 20 years. They never disappoint. I know I can pick up any of her books and the kids will enjoy it. All her stories are wonderful! The kids love to hear them over and over!
  • BoberMod
For younger children than most of her books.
  • Mave
This book is fabulous! And theres a twist at the end. Definitely worth buying.
  • Kit
Beautifully illustrated and written, it is a story all kids will love, but the word count is much lower than what I realized when I ordered it for 4th and 5th grade kids. The story is so good, that it didn't really matter though.

Patricia Polacco is a great author for classrooms that teach Writers or Readers Workshop. Her books can do so much for students; descriptions, feelings, places, traditions, characters, family, authors craft. I read them all year long.

Love everyone of Patricia Polacco's books!
I first heard about this book in a Korean Drama (Yes, I know how funny that sounds :)) and thought I would give it a try. Even my son liked the story. The ending was a complete surprise, even I was surprised. I love good endings. 4 swinging elephants out of 5.
