The present work shows the characters in a more nuanced light than ever before; giving Professor Fell, Hudson Greathouse and Berry Grigsby more prominent and interesting roles. The work also high lights how the present state can be, as T. S. Eliot's Archbishop observed, a blending of deeds both good and evil. Not only is there is a great deal of nuance in the texts, they are just plain enjoyable reading.
