Adella Brunk Kanagy was born in 1922 in Biglerville, Pennsylvania. Adella is the author of The Dutch Kettle Cookbook (1977) and Letters Across the Pacific (2009). In 1934 she moved with her family to Goshen, Indiana, where her father Joe managed a shirt factory at Goshen College. Three years later, Joe and the family embarked on a year-long trip to California and back. Fourteen-year-old Adella kept a daily diary of their adventures. Now age 95, Adella lives in Pennsylvania and enjoys keeping in touch with family and friends. Her five children, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren live on three continents. Apparently, they also inherited the travel bug.
