This text is an introduction to meteorology and the atmosphere - their components, problems, and applications.

The truth is, how much could meteorology have changed in two or so years right? This book does the job that I need. It has everything the professor asks and it was a fraction of the cost.

An introduction to dynamic meteorology. The general set of partial differential equations governing the motions of the atmosphere is extremely complex; no general solutions are known to exist. Department of Atmospheric Sciences University of Washington Seattle, Washington. To acquire an understanding of the physical role of atmospheric motions in determin-ing the observed weather and climate, it is necessary to develop models based on systematic simplication of the fundamental governing equations.

This textbook's style is one of my favorites--it starts from square one and assumes you have no previous knowledge in meteorology. This immediately makes this a great textbook for beginners, students, and those simply looking to teach themselves. The book has a simple setup with chapters, sub-chapters, titled sections, and bolded terms that makes the book easy to navigate when looking for quick answers. In addition, the book is relatively thin and lightweight, making it easier to carry along with you.

I would definitely recommend this textbook to anyone looking to gain foundational knowledge in meteorology.

This text is an excellent resource for an Introductory Meteorology course. Each chapter and topic built upon learning from the previous chapters and topics. This text not only covered detailed information about all meteorological topics, but also contained current event information from the past decade, news clippings, and common questions that may confuse students. The animations and extras included on the additional CD provided an added resource for further learning.

This book left me feeling a little under the weather. -_-

This is a college textbook, but it is easy to follow and understand. If you want to learn more about the weather and the atmosphere, this is a good place to start, and might be all you need.

This book is extremely well-written and explains concepts of weather, climate, and the analysis/forecasting of weather and climate in a clear and concise manner. The illustrations in the book reinforce understanding of the concepts. This textbook is appropriate for undergraduates, graduate students being introduced to meteorology, and professionals who need to understand weather and climate for their work. I strongly recommend this book.

I needed this book for a weather and climate class. It was not too hare to read and I found it helpful to the class in understanding some of the topics.

Good introductory textbook. I used it for my 300-level class, but thought it a bit below the level we should have been working at. Well-written and lots of interesting stuff inside though :)
