All the surveys and research was done in the early 90s. I'd say update the book and take out the research, or put it in an appendix. Millennials have been proven to need a work life balance. This is exactly what this book is saying. Although it was somewhat nice to revisit history because the research was done just as the millennials were conceived and coming onto the scene, I think the surveys are just fluff, especially since they are outdated. I would much rather have the specific background info on how Doreen came to know all the now famous authors if the book needed more information.

What I Liked -
I enjoyed using spare time references and models.
I enjoyed the pep talk on just doing it.
I enjoyed the common sense references to either taping your favorite shows or just letting go of TV altogether.
i especially enjoyed Doreen's transformation. Just look at who she is now because of the decision to have quality in her life and upgrade her life to one of quality. Much respect!'

What I Loved-
The use of quotes.
Many famous contributors - including Oprah.

Favorite passage/quote:
Unless you have your own clear idea of how you want your life to look, you won't feel in charge of your time. "Those who don't have goals are forever doomed to work for those who do," author Brian Tracy once told me.

This book doesn't contain anything new per se (besides merging spirituality with time management perhaps) but I did enjoy the book as a reminder to focus on what you want and having solidarity with creating your hearts desires by making the time you already have in your life count towards them.

I enjoyed this book. It is what is says it is, and the title sums it up pretty well. If you're in the dumps & doldrums and need a pick-me-up that is also productive towards your best interest, then this book is a terrific option. If you are already accomplished and feeling good about your progress in your life goals, then this book may seem predictable and somewhat lackluster. But the author does share some personal experiences throughout the self-help chapters that demonstrate her points nicely and do offer learning moments that can be taken away from the time spent studying its content.

As a hard core professional procrastinator, I have read a lot of books on that subject (rather than actually worked on critical issues). This book addresses the issue, works however with results of different polls that are not contemporary anymore (during 90ies most Americans said they would give up 10% of their weiges to get more time - after world economy crisis, this answers would certainly be different) Also, for readers outside USA, most of this polls don't make much sence.
The answers, as well as suggestions on fighting procrastination, are similar as in other books. It always comes down to the same thing, working in small chunks of time. Theory is good. Practise doesn't happen since the real change needs to happen in our brain/mind/soul. Well, regarding the soul issues, Doreen has the right approach.

i love this book... i have gotten so much good information and just feelings of not being alone

Provides with practical advice on how to improve your life. Even when it gives you good ideas, talks a lot about the author's own life and experience, it is interesting but sometimes I feel like it was too much information about the author and not of general purpose.
  • GAMER
Practical approach to finding happiness, meaning, and purpose in your life, without all of the fluff and filler of her later books.
  • Risinal
This is a good book for setting goals and breaking them down into steps. It is also good as a peptalk for when you feel like you can't start something, this book will help you to just go for it.
I have read many of Doreen's books and was just as happy with this one. Sometimes the obvious needs to be outlined for us. This book was very enlightening.
