I had a opportunity to hear this person speak many years ago. His writings are by far the best books I have ever read. Such a pleasure, his words will paint a picture for the reader!
  • Vizuru
Delightful. Wonderful drawings, too.
  • Dancing Lion
One of the best writings about the North, its feelings and its impact on humankind that I've ever read. This is a "must read" for any serious or hope-to-be wilderness person.
  • Rageseeker
A topical approach to the common themes of Olson's writings. I prefer the lyrical descriptions in his earlier works. Read this one last--but with great benefit.
  • Ice_One_Guys
Great book. Great author. Somewhat disappointed with the condition of the book. I think it should have been listed as "Fair" not "Good" or "Acceptable"
  • Lilegha
Yet another amazing book by THE Sigurd Olson! His one is from his later years. The last chapter is my favorite.
