In 1965, Gay Talese left his job as a reporter at The New York Times to focus on magazine writing, such as 1966's "Frank Sinatra Has a Cold" and longer projects, like his 1969 book The Kingdom and the Power.

I started the book reading in small segments of time and found it hard to keep track of all the characters the author introduced in the first few chapters. I would suggest reading the first few chapters in one sitting. I also started the book with the understanding it was a christian book with christian morals and no swearing but I was disappointed at that as well. Sally and Ethan's daughter was 8 months old when they were married. Her sister, raised in the same home with the same christian background, lives with her boyfriend and hangs out in bars sometimes. What I would expect from a secular author is what I found in this book I understood to be written by a Christian author.

Disappointed in the characters and the plot - did not match the title - some details were included that did not match up with others - why describe certain characters and not others - that has nothing to do with the story.

I have read several of this author's books. The story moves well, characters well developed. Two of the main reasons I chose his books was their availability as affordable e-books, and the Christian focus. This author achieves a good story without swear words or graphic immoral behavior.

It started out a little slow and couldn't follow the characters. By the three chapter with it started to become a combination of a love story. I haven't every read any of Larry Bultrams books but I'm game to try another of his if there is some.

This book was the best. It kept me on the edge of my seat most of the time. I couldn't figure out the ending like I usually do. It had a lot of twist and turns. I recommend to all who enjoy a good challenge.

Fairly good story, but not as good as False Witness. Like the continuation of the characters from the earlier book. Maintains good moral fiber.

A pleasant surprise. I actually enjoyed reading this book and I'm glad I got it. I would definitely recommend it!
This was a real exciting story. Had me on the edge of seat until the last page. A real page turner.
