Title: Drive Me Crazy Author: Nancy Warren Genre: Science Fiction/Fantasy. This is the poor book I picked up to read after finishing which, by the way, is an incredible book, and why in the hell I waited so long to pick it up, I have no friggin’ clue. Anyway, I wanted a complete change of pace and subject matter, so I grabbed a library book. I have over 10 books checked out from the library, and I need to thin the herd. Drive Me Crazy just happened to be on top of the stack

Alex Forrest would rather eat drain cleaner than spend one more minute with big-city art professor, Duncan Forbes. But their relationship is adding up to the kind of steamy sleuthing that just may lead them both beyond temptation and put their desires in drive.

Nancy Warren has a quick, energetic writing style, and adds just enough quirks and details to make her writing fun. I was really enjoying it for the first 30 pages or so, and then it quickly lost my interest. I had to force myself to finish it. It wasn't that the writing fell apart. I had to think for a while on why I wasn't interested anymore, and I think the answer is that it was just a rather shallow story. She talks about wanting to break stereotypes in this story, but she ends up with a stereotypical break-the-stereotype story. Does that make sense? Her librarian dresses like a hooker, her professor is fit, active and sexy. The drugged out sister is... well, you'll see. Everything was very predictable in it's singleminded effort to be unpredictable. The end result was rebellion for the sake of rebellion, and that doesn't flesh out characters, and it doesn't drive interest in the plot.

This was the first of her novels I've read, and I'm not necessarily sold on them from this outing. I think, because she does get good reviews, I'll try another before I give up on her, but I must say I was disappointed in my first read from her.

When he met the town librarian, Duncan Forbes had trouble reconciling her hooker looks with her spinster personality. Rather than a hair-bun, bifocals and tweed, Alex Forrest sports a short skirt, tight black sweater and do-me heels. In his preoccupation, Duncan scribbles his research notes in a book, only to be caught by the book Nazis who promptly charges him $148 dollars. Specifically, she charges him $41 for the book, $7 for a processing fee and $100 for defacing public property. That is when Duncan realizes that Alex might be related to Franklin Forrest, an antique dealer who reputably had some information on a Van Gogh missing since World War II.
Alex felt a dizzying rush of attraction when she catches Duncan looking up her skirt. But she does not have time for a sexy man while she is trying to get her grandfather's life story from audio tape to print and her grandparent's house sold. Two strangers show up in her library within twenty-four hours, one live and one dead, totally upending Alex's existence. Meanwhile, Duncan seems obsessed with her even as Alex's instincts warn her away from him. From their first kiss, Alex knows Duncan is trouble. Despite their promising chemistry, Alex has no time for a mindless affair with an obnoxious book scribbler she has just met, especially if he has blood on his hands.

With such remarkable characterizations and engaging plot, Warren's first venture into full length novels is a rousing success and readers will be eagerly awaiting an encore.

Drive Me Crazy is a delightful, sexy, emotional and intriguing good time.
Professor Duncan Forbes is in sleepy little Swiftcurrent, Oregon in search of a missing Van Gogh. While doing research at the local library he sees the sexiest woman on the planet. Much to his shock Miss Alex Forrest is the librarian. Wowza, Alex complexly blows away Duncan?s image of a typical librarian. Alex is way to sexy and is the granddaughter of the late Franklin Forrest, who may have had the missing painting. Duncan and Alex?s first meeting snaps and sizzles. Alex has her life planned, she wants to settle her grandfather?s estate and move to the big city. She hadn?t planned on a studly professor upsetting those plans.
When a body is found in the library things really start to heat up. Along the way to romance, this couple survives and attempted murder and a shooting. The intrigue in this story is very compelling and will keep you on your toes.
There is a secondary romance that is so sweet and emotional. Gillian is Alex?s cousin and is fresh from a divorce. She reconnects with an old friend Tom who is the cop investigating the new crime wave in town. This romance really complements the main
story.
This book has everything you want in a great book, I just loved it. Alex and Duncan?s chemistry makes the pages singe in your hands. Their verbal foreplay is funny as it is steamy. You can?t go wrong with this book.

I really had fun reading this story. The character's and plot were unique and this was a decent way to pass the time while I was traveling.
Duncan is looking for a missing Van Gogh and his quest has brought him to Swiftcurrent Oregon which seems like a sleepy small town but is really anything but. His first clue is the librarian Alexander Forrest. She is hot with a capital H! Ducan and Alex's first meeting is not the coolest meeting and sparks fly between these two very different individuals.
Alex likes order, peace, books, and dressing sexy. What she doesn't like (at least to this point) are smarmy "Indiana Jones Wannabe's" taking peeks up her skirt while "looking" for research material. She totally does not believe that Duncan is a College professor let alone a art buff! Ya right!!!
What brings these two together you ask? Why a dead body in the in the home decorating section of the library of course! Now there is a murder to solve, a painting to find, and Alex doesn't realize it but she may just have all of the clues. And then of course there is the raging hot chemistry that both Duncan and Alex need to either admit to or....burn up trying to get it out of their system!
This was a fun full-length romance that was a nice read. The character's were quirky, and the storyline was fun. I at times found myself skimming pages because there were a few slow spots but overall I think this book was good. Ms. Warren is well on her way to be great author!!!
