This was disappointing because I had remembered it as Quaker, but on rereading this time, I found it is post-Quaker and largely lapsed Quaker. For example, pacifism is dropped by the protagonist as are other gentle ways of the Society of Friends. Still, it has value as probably up-to-date with many people and may show the value of Quaker upbringing in the "graduates" of Quakerism.

One of my all-time favorite books to read. About the Quaker religion. I enjoy reading books about various religions. This was done very well. I've read it twice.

My paperback of this book finally fell apart and I replaced it with a used hardback. This is a must-read. It's so much better than you think.

I read this book back in the 70's. I was so disappointed when I finished the book - hated for it to end. I always remembered this book and was telling a co-worker about it and decided to buy it again. I still feel that it is one of the best books I have read.

Ik heb het ooit gelezen, lang geleden en kon het gelukkig via Amazon weer vinden. Een boek dat ik iedereen kan aanraden.
This book was old, musty smelling and pages falling out. The pages are yellow and the cover is ripped. Horrible
