Loved it so much, sent a copy to each of our children with hopes they will share/teach sayings with the grand kids. We were all taught sayings in elementary school & Sunday School, but I don't think sayings, which are so important to know, are routinely taught.

America's Popular Sayings are listed alphabetically. One of the many things I like about this book is that when a saying is given the author cites when/where the saying was used in a piece of popular literature or in other publications. It is amazing that so many honored authors from Shakespeare to Hemingway to Vonnegut freely used popularsayings in their literary works.
