Gabriel Wulf arrives at Collingsworth Manor just in time to save Lady Amelia Collingsworth from her husband. The mystery deepens when the only member of the household staff left, a young maid named Mora, tells a story of wolves who can turn into men in the forest around them.

Through the night Gabriel, Amelia and Mora fight to stay alive while they are stalked by the wild creatures until they are forced to escape; their destination is Wulfglen, Gabriel's familial estate. Gabriel is unsure if they'll make it there and if he can stop his growing attraction to Amelia.

Along the way Gabriel and Amelia give in to their attraction, but even if they make it to Wulfglen alive, Gabriel knows he can never be with Amelia now that the curse that effects all the Wulf men has struck him too. How could she accept him when he now resembles the very creatures they are running from?

The Cursed One had me on the edge of my seat from the first line to the last. As the danger escalates, so does the attraction between Amelia and Gabriel. The Cursed One is a dark, gripping story with engaging characters, a sensual romance, and a thrilling mystery.

The fight may be over for now, but danger still lurks. Perhaps we'll get to see the Wulf men or their sons or daughters again if the threat returns.

I was disappointed after the first two books. The rather lurid plot gets off to a good start with Amelia marring Rodger Collingsworth largely to please her parents. He is killed on their wedding night and the shape changer that replaced him attacks Amelia violently. She is saved by a silver letter opener and Gabriel who has stopped by to see about borrowing a horse as his is lame. The only servant left is Mora a young maid who had no place to flee to when the shape shifters showed up and started harassing folks. The shifters drive them out of the house and chase them cross country towards Gabriel's home. Heres where the plot comes apart; the shifters are planing to take over by killing important folks and substituting themselves for the folks they kill. When this doesn't work out they basically pick up their marbles and go home with a "see Ya". Also the shifter who attacked Amelia was hardly sticking to the plan. The reaction to events by the London ton is completely out of place for any time between the 1630s and the end of the Victorian era. If the author had built a fantasy society OK but she really didn't. Lots of other problems major and minor.

Good characters badly flawed plot.

This is the last story of the wulfs, it was just as good as the others. I loved how Amelia was able to show Gabriel he could love and trust another. Also, the paranormal aspect was interesting as always. Don't forget the man saving his lady love, always love that part.

Very cool series. Just the thing to have a "get-away" without going anywhere!

Unfortunately I inadvertedly read the 3rd book first, so some of the surprises for books 1&2 were given away. Having said that I really enjoyed the unique ideas of the brothers Would and their "curse". There was even the extra of history with the balls and the status of women as pawns in a male oriented society!

Wonderful conclusion to the Wild Wulfs series - you won't be disappointed! Now if it was only available in Kindle format...
I'm a pushover for seguels and this one did not disappoint. Ms Thompson keeps the story and characters alive and though to many this would just have been another werewolf story, to me it was another fantastic and refreshing read that ended all to soon.
