The Joy of Sex was born out of Alex Comfort’s experiences with couples who came to him when he was working as a G. You were then commissioned to update it, a book which became The New Joy of Sex (2008).

The Joy of Sex was born out of Alex Comfort’s experiences with couples who came to him when he was working as a GP. He’d have people turning up to his surgery saying, ‘We can’t have a baby. I was looking at it yesterday; as one of the ‘ingredients’, there’s a section on tenderness.

The Joy of Sex revolutionized how we experience our sexuality.

Men growing up in Alex Comfort’s time had a very different education, she said. I’m not saying they’re all new men now, Ms. Quilliam said, but she gets a lot more letters from men saying I’ve slept with her and now I love her, than saying that they want a one-night stand. She also gets a lot of letters from men saying, I’ve found it and I don’t know what to do with it. ) Photo. Which brings us to the clitoris.

The author has completely revised and restructured his revolutionary sex manual to address today's concerns about sex and health and also to bring out even more clearly the fundamental point of the book - that there is no really good sex without love.

"The Joy of Sex" is positive reinforcement of all the basics of loving which, by the age of ~22, we THINK we are pretty sure about. I passed my first copy on to a friend who was in need of guidance in the basics of the TENDER, SWEET, and INTENSE take on love making (there are many variations). Some individuals are really lacking in knowledge of the basics and NEED to read this book. Others have been paying attention and have been lucky enough to have learned bits here-and-there since a young age, but could still use some clarification on various details. They too should read it. PERSONALLY, I appreciated the positive reinforcement of all which I was pretty sure I knew, and I happened to learn at least one new very useful detail which had eluded me. Feel free to contact me directly for more detail. This is the first of, perhaps, 5 books which I would suggest reading on your path towards DAMNED GOOD SEX and SWEET, SWEET, LOVING. Others would include isbn: 1-56924-382-4. and perhaps (having not read it yet) isbn: 0-7679-1656-5.

A bit smaller edition than the original, otherwise the iconic volume with updated revisions as legend remembers! Great retro illustrations and detailed explanations.
  • Meztisho
Not much change from 20-30 years ago.

Not a dry scientific tome but sex for lovers done right. Can't begin to describe what makes this book so different from others on the subject but a must have. Replacing my original copy from the early 70's, glad to have the real version not the later editions ruined by photos. The line drawings published originally are a lot of the charm of this book. One of the reviews made mention of 'obsession with hair' . . . well when this was compiled it was the flower power era and people didn't wax themselves naked.

Not near as good as the original. Doesn't have the charm and wit that made the Joy of Sex so memorable.
  • Taulkree
Great condition
  • Preve
An excellent aid to improve already good marriage and to help those who really need help.
Interesting and practical.
