I've just finished reading this book, but I found myself following its recommendations quite naturally before I was halfway through it a week ago. I am pretty much convinced by now that it has already changed my life.

A lifelong compulsive eater who has struggled for 40 years to find help that worked, I was planning to wait to start until after spending the holiday weekend away at a place where I have historically stuffed myself sick and gained 5 pounds in three days. Instead, the book simply started working its magic on me almost immediately, and I found myself, without the slightest effort, seeking out and eating only the healthiest of foods the entire weekend, and having virtually no interest in the rest - including the 24-hour smorgasbord of junk on constant display at the snack table.

Instead of gaining 5 pounds, I lost 2. I felt, and continue to feel, healthy, happy, relaxed, and FREE.

This newfound ease and joy with food started several days before my weekend away, and has continued since my return. I fully expect it to continue. I will come back and post an update to confirm as time goes by.

Please don't let the many negative reviews stop you from buying, reading, and most importantly FOLLOWING this life-changing book. Simply read it, from beginning to end, at your own pace ... DO NOT SKIP AHEAD ... just follow it in order and, if you find yourself wishing to (it's hard to imagine why you wouldn't, as each is so simple and obvious), follow each instruction as you encounter it.

I rarely bother to write book reviews, but I want the whole world to know about this amazing book. Finally something that really works.

I was referred to this book by a close friend who quit smoking with Allen Carr's quit smoking book. She hadn't read this one but loved the other book. I figured why not give it a try.

Oh My Gosh I'm so glad I did!

I'm not even finished reading it yet but I'm already finding that my mindset is shifting when it comes to eating. When nothing is off limits, it makes it so much easier to choose the right food! In just under 2 weeks I am already down 6lbs. It's not magic, and you do have to make the right choices every day but I'm finding that as the days go by it's getting easier and easier to make the right choices.

I'm finding myself not even being tempted by the "junk" and wondering why I would even want to put it into my body.

Definitely worth a read!

OK, so I quit smoking three years ago with the help of Allen Carr's most famous book The Easy Way to Stop Smoking. This book is more common sense along the same lines. If you already know how to eat right but you're suffering from food addictions, then read this book. You probably already know that junk food is junk. And you probably already realize that you eat it for bad reasons. Just like with smoking, if you can convince yourself to believe in your heart and your gut what you already believe in your head, then you can free yourself from addiction. Personally, I've been losing weight and eating right ever since I read this about a month ago.

If you want to look at this material as hokey and silly, then you're probably right that it is. But if you want to better yourself then you can choose to overlook the cheesiness of some of what Mr. Carr says and focus on the value of the core message. And don't just do whatever he says, let your critical mind evaluate it all and figure out what is really best for you. And don't argue with the author in your head - argue with your own addiction.

There is another book called The Vitamin Cure for Alcoholism that I read along with this. And I followed its advice on what vitamins to take. I would and have recommended this book. I just spoke to my sister about it today actually. He has some very sensible views and when I really think about his "Easyway" it makes perfect sense to me. I am constantly sabotaging being who I want to be. I say I want to lose weight but if I even think the word diet I start eating more. I think dieting puts too much stress on me and I feel trapped or like I'm giving up something. After reading this book I feel I have a chance this time - I have adjusted my eating - I am eating what I like and I do not feel the need to overeat so I feel better already. I have always gone up and down with my weight but since I had my son and gained 80 lbs during pregnancy I have not been near my "normal". After reading this book, I not only think I will be at a healthy weight but I will not feel deprived while doing it. I already have more energy and have been more active. It has only been a few days but if I remember this feeling compared to how I felt after overeating I will definitely benefit from this book!!
