I am considered a "senior citizen" some days I feel it and others, well, not so much. I read these books before I gave them to my 9 year old grandaughter just to be sure of the content and language used. The books in this series are written by different authors but all done very well. All of them are written in diary form from the viewpoint of an adolescent girl. They deal , of course with the trial, problems, joys and sorrows of the times from the perspective of the diary writer. There are some especially poinant issues taking place in their stories.

This is the book that got my fourth grade daughter interested in reading. Everything she picked up before this left her bored and disinterested, and I was beginning to despair of her ever becoming an enthusiastic reader. When she fell in love with this book I read it as well, and I am glad I did. Standing in the Light is exciting, moving and beautiful, and the perfect adventure story for middle-grade readers.

Great book. Both my daughters (age 10 and 14) really liked it! It was a very easy read.

This was one of my favorite books as a child and now as an adult, it is easily still one of my favorites. This is an emotionally touching tale that will have you seeing early settler/Indian relations in a whole new light

????????????????????. Beautiful story, then sadness, then a bit of both. Probably not for children under nine years old. READ IT!

Love Mary Pope Osborne. My son absolutely loved the Magic Tree House books until he outgrew them and this book was fantastic. Obviously well researched and, as you would expect from MPO, very well written.
Great stories- fast shipment
