The cookbook was new and in new condition, however, both the dust cover and hardback cover is printed with the title "McCormick & Kuleto's" . Who is Kuleto? The recipes and information seemed the same as "McCormick &Schmick" and it was fine for my use but if it were for a gift I would have returned it.

My husband and I were at the McCormick and Schmicks Restaurant a few years ago at inner harbor and loved it so much that my husband bought me this book in the lobby. We had the crabcakes and broiled seafood platter. When we got home we were able to use the book to recreate that same meal for ourselves and family. To this day my father-in-law says that the Blue Crabcakes are the best he has ever eaten! Recently the book got damaged and many of the recipes were illegible. I immediately went looking to replace it and found it on Amazon - thank goodness! I would not want to be without this treasured part of my recipe book collection. Thanks McCormick and Schmicks for sharing your recipes!

So far, all the recipes I've tried have been great. I'm looking forward to making many more as McCormick & Schmick's is one of my fav places to eat.

I like the recipes in this book for being imaginative but fairly unpretentious. There's nothing too exotic here, just good solid combinations of flavors. There's little in the way of soups or sides or salads, mostly just different ways of handling protein, with a few pastas and sandwiches thrown in. Also, if you are hoping to reproduce the meal you had at the restaurant, roll the dice, because in several cases these appear to have been been dumbed-down or changed slightly from what the house actually serves.

However they DO include their recipe for the seafood and corn chowder, one of my favorites, which IS a faithful reproduction of the restaurant's recipe. The Spenger's Fish Tacos are included here, too, although the Kansas City restaurant no longer serves them, and the recipe does not include all the ingredients I remember--for instance the avocado ranch sauce is not included.

A potential problem is that several recipes call for sauces or flavorings that are made in bulk--the way a restaurant would do it. The Shrimp Salad, for instance, calls for 1/2 cup of the Gazpacho recipe from page 163. Because most of us just happen to have a pot of Gazpacho sitting around in the refrigerator! All the desserts seem to suffer from this same problem.

Still, this book is good for inspiration. They do cover a wide range of fish types and treatments, from New England Lobster Rolls to a couple of Cajun dishes to Caribbean-flavored tilapia. There's also a chapter of non-fish entrees.

Love it...good condition
I have a favorite dinner at McCormick and Schmick and it is in this book. Now I can make it at home and will order another dish at the restaurant, What ever that dish may be, I'm sure that it will become a favorite. Best cookbook for gourmet seafood lovers. Not just a throw the salmon it in the pan or plank cookbook!
