Very seldom do radio collector books go into details on particular model lines. Those that do rarely go over the engineering and manufacturing. This one does. Although I am not an avid collector of AK radios (I have a Big Box 20 and 42 Bread Box), this is recommended to anyone who loves the design of the radio. This book, as far as I know is the only real concise radio book for AK items. Sonoran Publishing hit a "home run" on this one. If you own the AK Breadboards, this is a must book to have. Most of the book is a collection of articles by Ralph Williams from Radio Ace Magazine, the detail Williams goes through each article is astounding.

If your into old radios you will find this book very interesting. If your into specifically Atwater-Kent radios, this is an absolute must! Everything about the company is in here. Most of the photo's are of the '20's sets.

Great Biography of the man and his company, which was the largest manufacturer of radios during the 1920's and 1930's. It is fascinating reading about advanced engineering, manufacturing and marketing. If you like history and technical electrical products, read this book.

I collect Atwater Kent Radios and this give me some history of the radio and the people who owned the company. I have knew for quite some time that the family had a summer place that was hit by the big fire in I believe 1947, so they had roots here in Maine, also someone said that they still have a place in Bar Harbor today, that is why I got the book.
