Next to the Bible, this book, along with Bill's wife's book (The Confidant Woman by Anabel Gillham), has done more to change my life and set me free than any other book I've read! And believe me, I've read MANY!! Always looking to that next book to teach me that great truth or expose the deep-seated lie I've believed that has held me captive. Well THIS book gets to the core of who we are and why we do what we do in ways no other book has done for me. And it reveals the solution ~ His name is Jesus and He not only lives inside me, but I live inside HIM! And He's aching to live HIS life through ME! Bill has a way of describing how it is that we were crucified with Christ, and how it is that I no longer live, but Christ lives in and through me. IF I let Him! It's my choice. I love the many practical applications that Bill uses to show us how to apply what he is teaching. It makes a concept that could be hard to comprehend suddenly seem easy and totally doable! But the best part is realizing that all I need to do is let Him "do" it all for and through me. I also learned Satan's strategies against us and to clearly discern his voice speaking to me so that I can refuse to agree with his lies and not be deceived by him any longer! So freeing! This book has made a difference in my marriage already, and I know it will make a difference in my legacy through our kids' lives as well! There are so many key truths I'd like to quote from this book, but do yourself a favor and buy it and go treasure hunting for your own choice nuggets of revelation! You will be glad you did!
I HIGHLY recommend this book!

As a new believer, this helped me start building the foundation of who I was as a "New Creation in Christ." This book is one that is given away to folks new in their walk with Christ or those who have been a Christ follower for 20+ years. My wife, a believer of 24 years, refers to the truths explained, in this book often. I highly recommend this for anyone desiring to overcome consistent struggles in a biblically sound way. This is not a feel good, self help book, this is a book that will allow you to understand the sanctification process and how to identify "old flesh patterns" that derail you at times.Lifetime Guarantee: Making Your Christian Life Work and What to Do When It Doesn't

... Written, Living, and Spirit. The book is great not because I agree with all contained here in, but because it draws us to intimacy with Jesus; I was constantly searching scripture as did the Berean's. (I will say that what I struggled with was not essential truth, but peripheral doctrine, such as 'can a person walk away from Christ?' The book fed my desire to search out the written word while calling out to the Holy Spirit to reveal Christ and what it looks like to "abide" in Him. Great accompanying book is "Grace Walk" by Steve Mcvey. I don't lift up either men, or any man, but I do believe the breath of God was upon them as these books were written.

No we are not in a civil war between two natures ( or two dogs). Our spirit is victorious over sin because Christ lives in us. Wanna know how that works. Read this wonderful book. The author makes it perfectly clear

Next to the bible, this is the best book that I have EVER read on Christianity. It explains why Christians and non-Christians alike, behave the way that we do. It truly explains how to walk and live by the Spirit of God so that we don't fulfill the desires of the flesh. It's all about giving complete control to the Holy Spirit in our lives to lead and guide us. This book opened up my eyes to MYSELF! A great life changing read. I will be purchasing more copies for friends and family alike. R.I.P Bill Gillham, your labor of love was not in vain.

This is a great book with a strong central message. I enjoyed chapters 1 thru 4 very much. Chapter 5 was a crescendo but can be somewhat confusing to understand the specifics of his message. I also found myself questioning the some of the specific, what I would call, minor teachings. But this did not detract from the main one which is hard to grasp, but critically important to the Christian's walk. Well done Dr. Gillham! I would recommend this book to the right audience.

One of the most impactful books of my life. Highly recommended for any Christian who wants to have a better understanding of their identity in Christ, as well as the battlefield of our flesh and our mind. Scripturally foundational, psychologically sound. Very very good.
I'm amazed at the negative reviews - some that claim this is satanic. How can looking solely to Christ and His sufficiency be evil? Quite the opposite is true. This book explains grace in a way that agrees completely with scripture. Bill Gillham gives the best explanation of why the Christian struggles with sin that I have ever read. He has a clear and down to earth writing style that clarifies the principles of scripture. Every Christian should read this book.
