I was very disappointed in this book. It is merely what we call a "Coffee Table Book". There are very few facts/history, but many photos. If I want photos of the Garden, I can take them with my own camera. I was very impressed with Knowledge, Truth and Service by Harry Dunkak, Ph.D. This was a well researched and well written history of the Garden, a history of botanical gardens back to the Ancient Egyptians, and the story of the Bronx River Area. If you want history I would not recommend the book, The New York Botanical Garden by various authors. Instead, read Dunkak's history.
