Not as good as the 1st book. The time travel and alien stuff just makes it feel complicated

Excellent comic worthy of any fan
  • Kit
excellent book

I bought this because I really enjoyed Claws 1. However, I don't feel that it really measured up to the first one. The artwork remains excellent, but the characterization didn't seem as thoughtful or as funny.

When I first stumbled upon this series, I was delighted! I love Black Cat, and to pair her off with a character such as Logan is fantastic! They seem to blend well together and it gave a chance for a zany story with some romance peppered in. It's not a heavy or deep story so if you are looking for a quick and fun adventure, with an older style comic feel, I would recommend this book.

The art is just as good as the first volume, though personally I like the slightly rougher, aged look of the first series (just a personal preference, doesn't impact the story at all). This volume skips with the previous sexual tension and plows right into "Logan the Ladies Man" territory; it's hard to believe Black Cat yelled at Wolverine for accidentally grabbing her chest last installment, yet this time they "take advantage" of a private room while waiting for a dessert to bake. The plot is pretty lame and really has nothing to do with them after the first issue; Logan goes into hack and slash mode and Cat pretty much just quips.

I like it because the art is nice, it's a decent self-contained story, and Wolverine spends the whole thing shirtless. Meh, I'm a woman, I'll be honest. :)

Wolverine and Black Cat met Arcade and White Rabbit and won. Kind of. When the villains meet a guilibel alien, Wolverine & Black Cat are sent into Killraven world, Earth's future where mankind is enslaved by Martians. Logan and Felicia will have to find their way back to their time and help Killraven if possible.

What can I say ? I usually like Justin Gray & Jimmy Palmiotti's works. But this time, they wrote something better and really funny: a delight to read. The heroes spend most of their times smiling, fighting exploding aliens and taking about sex. Yep, that too. It might be upsetting for some people but I liked that the sexual innuendo is written in a funny way, not machist, not feminist but clearly everyone is horny. Everyone is making the best they can and do not think that there won't be a tomorrow. In those grim'n'gritty times, that's really some fresh air. And the story goes clearly to the point with only 3 issues. (The book contains a Killraven one-shot too.)

I don't know Joseph Linsner works, but it doesn't strike me as funny stuff. Here, in Claws 2, I find a another side to his craft and he succeeds in rendering the comedy through the whole book.
