Wormwood: Gentleman Corpse is the second solo comic book series by creator Ben Templesmith.

Wormwood: Gentleman Corpse is the second solo comic book series by creator Ben Templesmith. Unlike the bleak post-apocalyptic world of Templesmith's previous work, Singularity, Wormwood is a lighter series which combines humor and horror. It was first published as short episodic serials within LOFI magazine from 2004 until it ceased publication

Ben Templesmith's Wormwood is just crazy.

Just when Wormwood thought he could finally have that quiet drink without. In this third volume of Wormwood Gentleman Corpse he does plenty to introduce a new reader – like myself – who hasn’t read either of the earlier volumes to the main character. Ben Templesmith's Wormwood is just crazy. Someone at work asked what I was reading and I could only tell her that it was about a god-like worm that lived in the right eye socket of a corpse. It's not quite a conversation stopper, but it's close.

Just when Wormwood thought he could finally have that quiet drink without worrying about the world coming to an end, or a friend with a parasitic infection trying to kill him, The Brotherhood of the Calamari decide to crash the party

Since their last meeting, they’ve tracked him across the thousand million dimensional possibilities of existence - and this time the entire Squideeverse is with them!

Ben Templesmith (30 Days of Night, Singularity 7, Fell) creates an all-eerie and humorous new series. Things are awakening in the city. Things that have a nasty habit of leaving mutilated bodies in their wake and it all reeks of demons and dark gods up to no good. Owing a favor to his lazy ghost cop buddy Trotsky, Wormwood, the gentleman corpse and his oddball entourage are brought in to investigate the case (or at least hopefully not stuff it up too much. Being a fan of Ben Templesmith's work from before 30 days of night with Steve Niles to his more recent work with the great Menton3 I always mention how amazing it is how he can take any character & make it great no matter the extreme differences. It's a must buy. You don't have to have read the comics or have bought the other two volumes for it make sense..it helps though of course. But Wormwood is a deliteful little maggot who looks quite dapper in his' skin suit and is hilarious without knowing his' background. The art is amazing as is Templesmith's writing. If you're a fan,let me coax you a little more by saying he's said recently he hopes to dust off the Gentleman Corpse character next year and put him in more mischief, making these older ones possibly not only go up in price but harder to find.

Great art, hilarious story and fun characters. Wormwood has been one of my favorite series recently and I hope Mr. Templesmith keeps writing them. He does all the art and writing so it may be a while for the next Wormwood story. My only complaint is that IDW picked a rather cheap binding to use so the book feels a bit flimsy. Other than that, if you haven't picked this book up already from the beginning GO GET IT!

Templesmith is an amazing artist and author. I enjoy his blend of comedic story telling and dark/murky artistry.
I've met him 2x at the Emerald City Comicon and he's a great guy. He signed 12 of my graphic novels and carried a conversation without acting exhausted and annoyed like some of the artists/authors.

I love this series so much, I really wish that there were more volumes to it. Three's not enough! The artwork alone is one of the reason I love it so much! Been Templesmith is an amazing artist that is able to capture all the fine details even with a tiny facial expression!

I love this series, such a crud sense of humor and you got to love the cyborg! The coloring and flow of the comix is crazy good and smooth to read!
