Beautiful pictures; high-quality glossy paper. Haven't read it yet, but was so impressed I bought more to give as gifts to family members. Beware, this is a smaller-sized page book than I expected.

Exactly the right size for travel. It is chocked for a wisdom, great photos and quick research. It's an inspiring companion for any other adventures you might want to undertake.

Not a bad summary, but it really should be expanded into a larger book with more text and photos. So I would not say it is a definitive guide, but rather just a start.

This overpromises in claiming to be definitive. One of the most holy spaces I've ever directly experienced was Kyoto's Zen garden Ginkakuji. Other places that amazed me, but aren't listed here: the Bahai Temple in Wilmette (the book only lists one Bahai temple), and Maybeck's Christian Science Church in Berkeley. Listed, but probably only for purposes of political correctness, are sites like the Vatican & the Mormon Tabernacle in Salt Lake City. I did admire the book's ability to let you travel from an armchair, and its method of organization is cogent and helpful. The photos from Tibet and Australia do transport the viewer to another realm.

This is a spectacular book, from the breathtaking photographs to the insightful narrative accompanying the photos - you won't want to put it down! The author takes you to inspiring and unexpected places you might otherwise never see. Incredible knowledge and detail has gone into the lengthy research for this book, making it a magnificent contribution to the study and appreciation of spiritual places and the mysteries they hold for us all.

Much more than a guide or a coffee table book, it serves as a repository of the collective history of the human race. A "must have" for anyone planning to travel, for anyone interested in sacred places, or for anyone looking for an expanded view of the world we all call home. The Sacred Sites Bible: A Definitive Guide to Spiritual Places is a highly recommended purchase!
